My Dear Dr. Crawford:-
I am sure you are quiet right in
your estimate of the evils resulting from a carniv-
orous diet.  I believe a hundred years from now,
the whole world will be vegetarian.
For  many years I lived on an almost
vegetarian diet, but never wholly attained it.
The condition of the world at present is so terrible
that to undertake talking vegetarism now, would be
like blowing against a hurricane. Men and animals
are all cast in the maelstrom of slaughter.
No one can have the least conception of existing
conditions, who is not over here. They will be
worse before they are better. Then will come the
new millinium, and we can only work, hope and

and pray in the meantime.

                          Sincerely yours,

                          Ella Wheeler Wilcox
