Wilcox, ELLA WHEELER (b. Johnston Center, Wisc. 5 XI 1850; m.1884 Robert Wilcox; d. Short Beach, Conn. 30 X 1919), American verse-writer and novelist. She gained wide popularity with her nearly 40 volumes of verse, which mixed platitudes with sentimentality.
